TOPLINE Tens of thousands of Facebook users reported experiencing outages on Monday morning, as well as users of the tech giant’s other major social media platforms, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger in outages that appear to be international. 

KEY FACTS

According to outage tracking service DownDetector, the number of outages reported by users spiked for all four of Facebook’s major services around 11:30 a.m. EDT.

Comments left on DownDetector and other social media platforms indicate that users all over the world are experiencing outages on Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp.

Facebook did not immediately respond to a Forbes request for comment, but said in a statement the company is “aware” of the complaints and working on a solution.
