Womenswear designer Kim Shui’s aesthetic has been described as "all over the place." A Chinese woman born in the States who grew up in Italy, she puts red fur on a purple plaid skirt and pierces a $198 pair of red leather pants with a metal waist closure that looks like a nipple ring. A signature piece is a sheer lace bodysuit worn by Kylie Jenner and Solange Knowles. Cardi B is also a client as is model Maye Musk, mother of Elon. Musk wore a $1,700 dress of snakeskin print leather. Shui’s work has been featured in Vogue, Elle, The New York Times, Harpers Bazaar, W, Interview and Vogue Italia. Her New York-based brand is about to release a collaboration with Urban Outfitters and a line of leather straps for Fitbit.
