Jim McKelvey, co-founder of Square, was trying to solve a personal business obstacle when he created the company. As a glass-blower, he wasn’t able to process a payment for one of his pieces — Square was the solution to this problem. After taking off, Amazon began selling a similar product that cost 30 percent less, which McKelvey feared would take him out of business. In the latest episode of 90 Seconds With, McKelvey describes how he continued to produce a quality product, went up against Amazon and won.
